Trench warfare in 40 steps

People come up to me all the time and be all like "Are you... a wizard?! How do you make such awesome drawings in MS Paint?!".

No, actually they don't.
I just wanted to show off how I made Trench warfare in this short animated gif.

Fan made artwork!

Remember the large zombie drawing I made a while ago?

It appears I inspired redditor Rackapulsare's son (10 years old) to make his own interpretation!
He clearly put a lot of effort into it!

Letter from the front!

Stick men fight. It's the only thing they do, right?
But did you ever stop to think about how or what they feel? Probably not.

Here's a letter from Billy Bob. A simple stick soldier, fighting on the front line for your amusement.

Dear Anne,

Things aren’t well out here at the front.
The enemy is dug in pretty good and we’re getting slaughtered out there. Running out of the trenches is suicide. If the mortars don’t get you, the machine guns or the snipers will. It’s hell, but we have no choice. I’m one of the lucky few who made it back to camp after being shot in the shoulder. Don’t worry though, It’s not that bad with the morphine. Ah sweet, sweet morphine I don’t know if they plan to send me home or patch me up and send me to meet the maker. Whatever happens, just know I love you and always will.

Some time ago we found some caves below our camp which seem to run all the way under the enemy’s camp. It could mean a lucky break for us. A few days ago, we sent some guys to scout the caves, but they never returned. I did hear some screams echo at night. I don’t know if it was the fever from being shot or the morphine, but the screams sounded like pure terror. Almost inhuman even. I don’t know, we’re under a lot of stress here. One of the guys has even gone missing inside the camp. I’m sure he’s just hiding, but no one can seem find him.

Today something weird happened. Some new guys showed up. Not the average boys they normally send up, but real tough guys. Different gear and all. Their commanding officer (a real hard ass) is talking to ours as I write this letter, and it doesn’t sound like your everyday friendly conversation! They seem very interested in the caves and don’t really help out in the trenches. They’ve been hauling heavy equipment down there all day. I don’t really care, as long as they find our boys down there. Nobody deserves to be left behind in some dark cave a thousand miles from home.

With a little luck we may be able to take the enemy by surprise by attacking from behind their lines! Who knows, in a few days we may be able to take the town!
I know I’m probably being overly optimistic, but it’s the only thing I have. That, and smokes! Send me more smokes!

I hope this pigeon doesn’t get shot. We only get so many…

Yours always

Love

Billy Bob

World War I - Trench warfare

Some people suggested I do a World War I Paint Stick War, so naturally I did
I upped the drama and "realism" a bit, but it wouldn't be a classic PSW if it didn't have some funny and weird stuff in it!

Let me know what you think!
By the way, I made sure the sticks have a place to poop this time!

Zombie apocalypse: the aftermath II

BAM! More mutant zombie related awesomeness!

This sequel to “Zombie apocalypse: The aftermath” depicts a hub site where resources are stored and redistributed. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Don’t worry, I’m not entirely sure either. For more on my Zombie apocalypse universe check here: Zombie apocalypse!, Zombie apocalypse: The aftermath.

Unlike a fortress, which is a temporary fortification to protect a mining interest, a hub is a permanent base with living quarters, a lab, a loading bay for dropships and a large storage facility below.

The hub has several defense layers.
The perimeter is defend by a canal (mutant zombies can’t swim very well), fire pits to roast the tenacious bastards, a wall (obligatory) and gun towers.
The base itself has some machine gun posts and grenade launchers as well.

As this is a military base and completely devoid of female sticks (not being sexist, this is entirely coincidental), the male sticks are a bit frustrated and they need ways to blow of some steam. You’ll often find them smoking, drinking and playing games.

The base has some captured mutant zombies to experiment with, so the lab is used to the occasional outbreak. Unfortunately the loading bay is not.

An infected dropship has made it in to the base somehow and the mutant zombies are wreaking havoc in the loading bay area, disabling defense systems with their acid spew and infecting stick soldiers and technicians. Once bitten and infected by a mutant zombie, the DNA is altered almost instantly.

Not much is known about the mutant disease at the moment. Mutant zombies are highly aggressive and agile when it comes to jumping and climbing but they can’t swim for shit. Recent research suggests they are linked through a hive mind or connected to a higher consciousness. This would explain why they sometimes choose to eat or turn their victims and why they attack in groups.

Let's hope these brave sticks can contain the security breach!

Must. Finish. Ridiculously large. Pain stick war.

Seriously, this will be the last time I make a scene this big. I've been working on it for months now and it's still not finished.
Hell, I doubt it will ever be finished!

I think I owe you, my trusty fan(s), another little preview.

So here it is!
Just some sticks gamin'

Everybody needs some R&R every once in a while.

Holiday peview!

I’ve been hardly working on this new Paint Stick War over the past few weeks. So I think it’s safe to say it won’t be done until next year. Which isn’t that long, but I feel kinda bad because it’s been so long since I’ve posted something new.

I hope this preview is enough to get you through the holidays!

Can you guess what it’s about?

No?

I know you like clues…

Happy holidays!!!

The final stand

For my fan(s) at computer store Van Roey Automation.

Chaos and anarchy rule the world.
Militarized gangs have organised throughout the land and are roaming from city to city in a looting rampage.

Looking for an easy tech score, the looters have turned their sights on a large computer store. Little did they know, the brave employers of this particular store were ready to defend their precious beacon of technology with their lives. Yes, with their lives!

The quick score, envisioned by the gang strategists, has turned in a veritable siege. Barricaded doors, gunfights, and vicious melee fights were certainly not part of their plan. But neither were a bunch of zombies crashing the party. No one knows what they’re doing there but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them before... here or here.
(honestly, I just got tired of drawing normal sticks.)

Will these brave employers stand vast against this torrent of violence?
Will their supplies dwindle, forcing them to surrender in the agony of starvation?
Will they get bored and be all like “Fuck this shit, I’m going home! And I’m taking an Ipad!”
Who’s to say?

Looters vs. employers. Suddenly zombies!

Because of the vast amount of sticks in this scene, I’m not going to guide you through it like I usually do.

Just be sure to look for these (in no particular order):
·         Employers fighting gang style with keyboards and mice
·         Knife to the groin
·         “Why! GOD WHY!!!”
·         Chillin’ and snipin’
·         Mini gun stick guy
·         Gangnam style not allowed
·         “I’m out of ammo, throw me a cli-“
·         Roasting wieners
·         Stick guy on fire
·         Bold bald stick
·         3 stick party
·         Peppered car
·         “I can see the light...”
·         The Coward
·         Giving the finger
